We’re fully insured for home visits, collections and postal items. We explain how every offer is calculated, and you’re free to say no. If you accept, we pay promptly by bank transfer.

We predominantly deal with gold and silver (broken or complete). However, we also deal with watches, coins, and other collectibles. If you're unsure whether something qualifies, just get in touch and ask.

The value of 9ct gold changes daily with the gold market, so there’s no single fixed price. 9ct gold is 37.5% pure gold, so its value per gram is just over a third of the current 24ct gold price. For example, if 24ct gold were £100 per gram, 9ct would be worth about £37.50 per gram.

Final offers depend on the day’s price and on testing your item, and they exclude gemstones and non-gold parts. If you’re in East Sussex or Kent, we’ll value your gold for free by home visit, collection or post, with no obligation to sell.

You’ll need photo ID, such as a passport or UK driving licence, and sometimes proof of address, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement.

UK anti-money-laundering rules mean reputable gold buyers must verify who they’re buying from, and it also helps protect against stolen goods. We only use your details to complete the purchase, and you can read how in our AML and privacy notices. We assess the purity (karat) and weight of your gold, watches or coins against the day's market price, and explain exactly how we’ve reached your offer. You'll always know the reasoning before deciding whether to accept.

Never. Valuations are completely free and come with no obligation. You're welcome to decline any offer.

Yes, if you use a buyer who is open about who they are and how they work. Before you agree to a home visit, check that the buyer is a registered company with a verifiable address, and that they explain how they calculate their offer before you commit. A trustworthy buyer will never pressure you to accept, and you should always be free to say no. It’s sensible to book a time that suits you, have a friend or family member with you, and keep your valuables out of sight until the visit starts.

At Mason Fine Acquisitions Ltd, every home visit is by appointment, our valuation is explained step by step, and there’s no obligation to sell. If you’d rather not have anyone visit, you can also arrange a collection appointment with us, sell by post or at one of our local buying events.

We arrange a convenient time to come to you, value your items in person, and confirm the transfer on the spot if you're happy to accept — no need to leave the house.

Once you're happy to go ahead with the service, we'll arrange a convenient time to collect your items directly from your door. Everything is handled securely and discreetly, and we'll confirm the value with you before anything is finalised — so there's nothing to decide on the doorstep.

Once you're ready, we'll send you clear instructions and packaging guidance for sending your items using a fully insured, tracked postal service (postal bag included). As soon as your parcel arrives, we'll confirm receipt, carry out your valuation, and get back to you -nothing is finalised until you're happy to accept.

We hold local buying events across the area, giving you the chance to get a valuation in person without needing to book a separate appointment. Every event is attended by 2 experienced valuers, with security on-site throughout, so you can feel confident bringing your items along.
