Terms and conditions
Last updated: 15/09/2026
These terms apply whenever you sell an item to Mason Fine Acquisitions ("we", "us", "our"), whether via home visit, postal service, collection, or at one of our buying events.
1. Valuations
All valuations are provided free of charge and without obligation. A valuation is an estimate based on the purity, weight, and current market price of your item(s) at the time of assessment, and is not a guaranteed offer until formally agreed with you.
2. Acceptance of an offer
An offer becomes binding only once you have explicitly accepted it, whether verbally (in person or by phone) or in writing. You are under no obligation to accept any offer we make.
3. Ownership
By offering an item for sale to us, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the item, or are authorised to sell it on behalf of the owner (for example, as part of an estate), and that it is not subject to any claim, loan, or dispute.
4. Payment
Once an offer is accepted, payment will be made by bank transfer, ordinarily on the same day, unless otherwise agreed. We do not carry or offer cash payment for security reasons.
5. Home visits, collections and postal transactions
Home visits: We will attend at an agreed time to assess and, where agreed, purchase your item(s) in person.
Collections: We will collect items from your address at an agreed time. Ownership does not transfer until a valuation has been confirmed and accepted.
Postal transactions: Items sent to us should be sent using the fully insured, tracked postal service we specify. We are not responsible for items sent via any other method. We will confirm receipt of your item(s) as soon as they arrive, and no transaction is finalised until you have accepted our valuation.
6. Buying events
Items brought to a Mason Fine Acquisitions buying event will be valued on-site by an experienced valuer. As with all transactions, no sale is final until you accept our offer.
7. Right to decline items or transactions
We reserve the right to decline to value or purchase any item, including where we have concerns about its provenance, authenticity, or your ability to legally sell it.
8. Disputes
If you believe a valuation was not calculated fairly, please contact us at contact@masonfineacquisitions.co.uk within 72 hours of the transaction, and we will review the matter.
9. Anti-money laundering compliance
We are required by law to carry out identity and due diligence checks in certain circumstances. Please see our AML / Customer Due Diligence Notice for further detail.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
