Mason Fine Acquisitions buys unwanted gold, silver, jewellery, watches and coins from customers across East Sussex and Kent, including, but not limited to: Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Hastings, Bexhill, Rye and Tenterden.
We offer free, no-obligation valuations and four ways to sell:
Home visit: we come to you and value your items at your own kitchen table.
Collection: we collect from your door at a time that suits you.
Post: send your items using our fully insured, tracked postal service. We confirm receipt and value before anything is finalised.
Buying events: drop in to a local event for an instant valuation while you wait.
We’re fully insured for home visits, collections and postal items. We explain how every offer is calculated, and you’re free to say no. If you accept, we pay promptly by bank transfer.
We’re in association with Whites Jewellers (Tenterden) and Thomas French Jewellers (Bexhill).
-
We predominantly deal with gold and silver (broken or complete). However, we also deal with watches, coins, and other collectibles. If you're unsure whether something qualifies, just get in touch and ask.
-
Bring or send everything — we're happy to check and separate anything of value at no cost.
-
The value of 9ct gold changes daily with the gold market, so there’s no single fixed price. 9ct gold is 37.5% pure gold, so its value per gram is just over a third of the current 24ct gold price. For example, if 24ct gold were £100 per gram, 9ct would be worth about £37.50 per gram.
The easiest way to get today’s figure is to use our gold calculator, which uses the live gold price. Select 9ct, enter the weight in grams, and you’ll see an estimate straight away.
Final offers depend on the day’s price and on testing your item, and they exclude gemstones and non-gold parts. If you’re in East Sussex or Kent, we’ll value your gold for free by home visit, collection or post, with no obligation to sell.
-
First, check you’re authorised to sell it. If the estate is still being settled, speak to the executor or solicitor. Then keep the pieces as they are (don’t clean or polish them) and get a free valuation. Mason Fine Acquisitions values inherited gold, jewellery, watches and coins across East Sussex and Kent, by home visit, collection, post or local buying event. We explain exactly how your offer is calculated, and there’s no pressure to accept. If you’d like to sell, we pay promptly by bank transfer.
Because we’re in association with Whites Jewellers and Thomas French Jewellers, we can also flag pieces that may be worth more than their gold content.
-
We aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day and arrange a visit, collection, or postal instructions promptly after that.
-
Not at all. Most people have no idea what their pieces are worth - that's exactly what the valuation is for.
-
Yes.
Mason Fine Acquisitions is fully insured for home visits, collections and postal items, so your items are covered while they’re with us. If you post items in, we use a tracked service, confirm receipt and value before anything is finalised, and you’re free to decline our offer.
If you’d like to know more about our cover before we visit, just ask and we’ll be happy to explain.
-
You’ll need photo ID, such as a passport or UK driving licence, and sometimes proof of address, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement.
UK anti-money-laundering rules mean reputable gold buyers must verify who they’re buying from, and it also helps protect against stolen goods. We only use your details to complete the purchase, and you can read how in our AML and privacy notices. If you’re unsure whether you have the right documents, get in touch before your appointment and we’ll tell you what to bring.
-
We assess the purity (karat) and weight of your gold, watches or coins against the day's market price, and explain exactly how we’ve reached your offer. You'll always know the reasoning before deciding whether to accept.
-
Never. Valuations are completely free and come with no obligation. You're welcome to decline any offer.
-
By bank transfer, usually the same day you accept an offer.
-
Yes, if you use a buyer who is open about who they are and how they work. Before you agree to a home visit, check that the buyer is a registered company with a verifiable address, and that they explain how they calculate their offer before you commit. A trustworthy buyer will never pressure you to accept, and you should always be free to say no. It’s sensible to book a time that suits you, have a friend or family member with you, and keep your valuables out of sight until the visit starts.
At Mason Fine Acquisitions Ltd, every home visit is by appointment, our valuation is explained step by step, and there’s no obligation to sell. If you’d rather not have anyone visit, you can also arrange a collection appointment with us, sell by post or at one of our local buying events.
